Winter Series Point System
The PNWORCA winter race series works by accumulating points over the course of the 7 races.
Overall finishers in the men's and women's OC1 divisions are scored 5 points for first place and 1 point for fifth place. The 5 best scores out of the 7 races are used to calculate totals. Awards are given to the top 5 finishers.
In the age division categories, points are scored 5 points for 1st place, 4 points for 2nd place and 3 points for 3rd place. Awards are given to the top 3 finishers.
You must complete at least 3 races in the series to qualify for awards, which are presented at the final race at the end of the season. The completion of 3 races also forms a division category. (If you are a master’s surfski paddler, and complete 3 races under that category you will qualify for awards). You must stick with the same age category that you choose - if you race open in one race and masters in another, they will be scored separately and your points will not accumulate.
All races start at 11:00 am. Entry fee for each race is $10 per paddler. Paddlers must have a life jacket on board or worn, and leashes are advised.
